The CMP Network SA is a registered Section 21 Association incorporated not for gain and is a public, non-profit organisation set-up to facilitate the requirements of the CIC-owned CMP® program in the Southern African region as well as progress the CMP status.

With many thousands of potential CMP's worldwide – the Network provides a ‘hands-on’ approach to the South African meeting / event management industry on a direct and personalised basis.

The main objectives of the CMP Network SA are to facilitate and undertake a range of tasks & requirements which progress the CMP program & status attainment in Southern Africa.

  • Promote CMP and its benefits throughout the region/country;
  • Promote CMP as the international professional qualification, providing the background details accordingly;
  • Market the merits of ‘doing business’ with a CMP;
  • Create and update a website for application enquiries as well as the furtherance of CMP status attainment;
  • Mentor candidates on the CMP application process;
  • Plan, facilitate and endorse CMP Study/Focus groups, MICE Academy sessions
  • Conduct Network gatherings and meetings on a regular basis;
  • Promote local media coverage to acknowledge CMPs
  • Formulate and implement a strategy plan for CMP Lifelong Learning;
  • Motivate and provide information on the CMP re-certification requirements;
  • Assist with promoting the CMP program at exhibitions; 
  • Promote to candidates the policies, terms and conditions as laid down within the CMP Candidate Handbook and any other CIC requirements.

The Network has a 12 person Advisory Board representative of the various meetings management sectors.  These are conceptual & logistical professionals  / venue facilities / exhibitions / audio visual & staging / destination management / travel & tours / recruitment / training & education / transport & risk assessment.  

Besides Advocate Louis Nel  B.Comm LL.B  LL.M - the Advisory Board’s legal advisor as well as the Financial Officer – all Advisory Board members are drawn from the South African CMP ranks.  The Advisory Board members’ profiles can be viewed here.   

An Ethics Policy together with a Code of Conduct and the necessary Disciplinary Procedures is also available to the international meeting/event industry.
